As an experienced, OCT certified teacher, I am in the best position to teach you the skills necessary for success in high school and prepare them for post-secondary education. I have successfully taught hundreds of students and my skills, knowledge and years of teaching experience cannot be matched by other tutoring companies.
My core belief as an educator is that I teach individuals, not classrooms. I do not follow a one-size-fits-all approach to teaching but rather identify the necessary instruction and strategies each of my students requires to be successful. Although I routinely teach classrooms of over thirty students, I work hard to meet the unique needs of every student in my class. In order to do this I set high, but achievable, expectations. I expect the student’s best effort and I challenge them so they fully realize their potential.
Furthermore, I teach in a creative and original manner so that my students possess the necessary skills to be prepared for, and succeed in, an uncertain future. I focus on developing in demand skills including critical thinking, creativity, communication, and collaboration. I want my students to be imaginative thinkers that shape their own futures. For this to happen, it is essential that I make learning engaging and enjoyable. My students better master the material because there is a purpose and relevance to what they are learning.
Over the years I have taught English Language Leaders the essential reading, writing and speaking skills to succeed in university-level English courses. With my help, these students have earned exemplary grades in these challenging courses and I was proud when they told me that they received acceptance into their first-choice university.
I teach many students with various special needs including gifted students and students with ADHD, cognitive delays, and learning disabilities. Through thoughtful accommodations and modifications of the course content and curriculum expectations, I better personalize their education so that they achieve the success they need.

As a tutor I consistently communicate and work with my students’ school teachers to coordinate support and assistance. Because we both have a strong grasp of the curriculum together we can easily coordinate assistance and know exactly what is expected of our students. There is no lost time as I work with my students to make sure they are surpassing the curriculum, and their teacher’s, expectations. I possess a deep knowledge of numerous core texts studied in local elementary and high schools. I have taught these texts to hundreds of students over the years and understand the methods that best make reading these books engaging and enjoyable.
