Meet the Business Owner
While I’ve always been creative, when I discovered photography at age 16, I knew I had found an incredible artistic outlet. Photography gave me a way to see the world around me more deeply, and to capture everyday experiences in a way that made them special.
Soon after, I began using my camera to make fine art, and put on my first show, part of the Contact photography festival. I went on to get my Bachelor’s of Fine Arts degree in photography at Ryerson University, and continued to learn and challenge myself.
So how did I get into photographing weddings? When I got engaged a few years ago and started looking for a photographer for my own wedding, I realized that my background gave me something unique that I could offer couples: my creativity from making fine art, my 10 years of experience assisting a top Toronto photographer, and my degree, which exposed me to the best photography of our time and allowed me to draw from it in my work. I started Luminous Weddings in 2011.
