Toronto Bodyworks is proud to offer a variety of bodywork treatments from an exceptional team of qualified, caring professionals. We use only natural high-quality oils and lotions for our bodywork treatments.

Registered Massage Therapy
Relaxing. Healing. Rejuvenating.

Registered Massage Therapy is commonly used to relax and rejuvenate tired and sore muscles but it is also an effective treatment for a variety of other complaints including anxiety, depression, pregnancy discomfort, repetitive strain injuries, multiple sclerosis, chronic fatigue, physical rehabilitation, and more. Your therapist will discuss your needs with you prior to your treatment.

Sports Massage
Injury Prevention. Healing.

Though Sports Massage is similar to Registered Massage Therapy, it is distinct in how it prevents and addresses activity-related injuries. A pre-event Sports Massage will stimulate circulation and prepare the body for strenuous activity. Post-event Sports Massage focuses on healing, relaxation, and elongating muscles to prevent and alleviate soreness. This treatment is excellent for athletes and non-athletes alike.

Hot Stone Massage
Relaxing. Rejuvenating.

This treatment is a combination of traditional hot stone therapy and Swedish massage and is incredibly relaxing. Smooth stones are warmed in a water bath and used in the therapist’s hands to move and massage the body. The stones are also strategically placed along the body to release tension and stress. Hot Stone Massage increases circulation, decreases stiffness and tension, and treats sore, aching muscles.

Neuromuscular Integration and Structural Alignment (N.I.S.A.)
Revitalizing. Increased Flexibility. Rehabilitating.

Neuromuscular Integration and Structural Alignment (NISA) stretches and softens the body’s fascia, the thin sheet of tissue that resides underneath the skin. It is a gentler version of Rolfing that is ideal for people with limited mobility. NISA improves posture, relieves pain, increases flexibility, and enhances overall wellbeing. NISA has long-lasting effects and is an excellent treatment for physical rehabilitation.

Lymph Drainage
Anti-inflammation. Gentle. Immune-boosting.

The lymph system is responsible for maintaining an efficient immune function, fluid metabolism, and proper detoxification. The therapist applies light pressure toward the lymph nodes to release fluid buildup. Applied for trauma and edema this modality can also address a variety of complaints including general congestion such as sluggishness, fatigue, muscle soreness and can assist with efficient toxin removal. Specify at the time of booking if you would like this for a trauma / edema (specific/localized) or general decongestion (full body sweep).

Shiatsu Therapy
Healing. Revitalizing.

Shiatsu uses the same meridian system as acupuncture but with the use of physical pressure from the hands, thumbs, and elbows, instead of needles. Shiatsu is sometimes referred to as Acupressure and is a deeply personalized therapy based on the client’s needs and comfort level. Therapist, Sue Sheedy, can combine shiatsu with an acupuncture treatment on request.

Thai Massage
Rejuvenating. Revitalizing.

Thai massage is a form of massage therapy where the therapist incorporates assisted movement and stretches to activate energy, increase circulation, and achieve overall balance. Thai massage releases muscle tension and aligns the body. Also known as Lazy Yoga, Thai massage is an incredibly effective treatment for asthma, migraines, increasing flexibility, and addressing insomnia.

Acupuncture
Healing. Immune-boosting. Energizing.

An acupuncture treatment involves the insertion of fine needles into specific points on the body. These points are located on channels that carry qi (pronounced chee), the body’s energy. The needles release blocked qi, address deficiencies, and restore balance. Acupuncture is used to treat a variety of (dis)eases including digestive issues, sleep disorders, stress, addiction, and infertility.

Cosmetic Acupuncture
Anti-aging. Skin complaints.

Cosmetic acupuncture is an innovative and effective technique for reducing fine lines and wrinkles, puffy eyes, acne, rosacea, cellulite, and more. It is a whole body treatment that boosts the energy of the internal organs, supports revitalization, and slows the aging process. Cosmetic acupuncture is also a common treatment for increasing muscle tone and tightening sagging skin.
