Swedish Massage
The most widely recognized massage is the Swedish massage. The Swedish massage techniques commonly used as a light pressure style of massage strokes. Swedish massage uses five styles of strokes.
The five basic strokes are efflurage (sliding or gliding), petrissage (kneading), tapotment(rhythmic tapping), friction (cross fiber or with the fibers) and vibration/shaking. Swedish massage has shown to be helpful in reducing pain, joint stiffness and improving function in individuals with osteoarthritis of the knee over a period of eight weeks. Swedish massage is also very effective with chronic constipation problems.
Clinical studies report that Swedish Massage can effectively reduce low back pain and the effectiveness can last for as long as 15 weeks. One study reported that Swedish Massage caused reduction in salivary cortisol indicating its role in management of stress and improvement in mood.
Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massage is a type of massage therapy that focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles. It is used for chronic aches and pain and tension areas such as a stiff neck, upper back and low back pain, leg muscle tightness, and sore shoulders.
Some of the strokes are the same as those used in Swedish massage, but the movement is slower and the pressure is deeper and concentrated on areas of tension and pain in order to reach the deeper-layer of muscles and the fascia (the connective tissue surrounding muscles).
Hot Stone Massage
Hot Stone Massage is a form of massage therapy that follows the same principles of Swedish Massage with the addition of heated stones, which helps lead to deep relaxation. Adding heat to specific areas on the body enhances the feelings of relaxation and peace. Recommended in particular stressed related tension, chronic pain and others conditions. The penetrating effects of the heated stones allows the massage for exceptional smooth stroke, which allow for a light or deep pressure experience….it’s a must try!

Jesse’s RMT Clinical Massage offers mobile massage therapy treatments for emergency case only, which clients are not physically well enough to travel to the clinic. I will provide all things necessary for a great therapeutic massage experience, just as if you came to the clinic, Sheets, blanket, table and music.
