About Your Wedding Photographer

Capturing The Human Element

get it: every time I go to work, it’s one of the most important days in the lives of two people who are embarking on a new journey in life as one. Photographing weddings is an immense responsibility, and you want to ensure that the individual you’re hiring is experienced, professional, and delivers results that surpass your expectations. Good enough is never enough; not for me and definitely not for you. Since good photography starts with great relationships, I look forward to learning more about you.

My Story
I fell in love with photography when I received my first digital camera for my 20th birthday. I photographed everything from family pets to blades of grass. As my casual hobby transformed into a creative outlet, people became my preferred subjects.

It’s all about the human element: you, your family, and everyone you know
While attending film school, I discovered a strong predilection towards cinematography—the art and science of motion-picture photography. There’s an indescribable pleasure in lighting and framing a shot that develops the narrative and scene. It requires a keen eye for lighting and composition, on-the-spot problem solving, and both a measure of foresight and quick decision-making. I carried this philosophy into my work as a wedding photographer.

My Style
Genuine and unposed—documentary wedding photography that captures the human element
I’ve been drawn to photojournalistic wedding photography from the first moment I set eyes on the work of Jeff Ascough and other British and American wedding photojournalists. It was a revelatory breath of fresh air!

Documentary wedding photography is different: it’s authentic and has grit. My aim is to capture and preserve all the spontaneous raw moments that reveal our shared humanity.

My Manifesto
Unobtrusiveness
As your wedding photographer, I will make every effort to be as unobtrusive as possible, which means that you and your guests will not be prompted to pose unless a request is made to do so. The reason for this is quite simple: I want couples to enjoy and experience their wedding day as it naturally unfolds. Why waste those precious few hours trying to fulfil someone else’s editorial vision?

Professionalism
As your wedding photographer, I will follow the platinum rule and treat you as you wish to be treated. I will be respectful to you, your family, your guests, and your traditions. I will remain just as communicative after your wedding day as I did before you hired me. I will show up on time, won’t get lost, and won’t leave early. I will store multiple redundant copies of your images from the moment the photo is captured to the time it is delivered. I will complete the work and deliver the products on or before the stated date.

Timelessness
As your wedding photographer, I eschew photo-editing trends and process your photographs to appear as true-to-life as your visual memories of the day. The real value of wedding photography is measured on a scale of decades and increases with time, having an inverse relationship to your recollection of the day. My ultimate goal is to capture timeless wedding photographs that will age gracefully and accurately represent the beauty and joy of your wedding celebration.
