From a very young age, it was clear to Dr. Tracey Bourdeau and her family that she would become a veterinarian. Growing up, she was always finding ways to bring home sick and injured animals in need of care, determined to return them to their rightful place in good health. This brought her great joy and satisfaction and pursuing a career in veterinary medicine was her ultimate goal. In early high school, she began working as a kennel assistant at a local veterinary hospital in Mississauga and held that position throughout high school until completing university. It was during this time that she established her connection to Burnhamthorpe Animal Hospital through Dr. Fiona Cameron, the founder of Burnhamthorpe Animal Hospital. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Guelph, followed by her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1994 from the Ontario Veterinary College.
