SERVICES
Many clients are surprised by the various types of services that our hospital is designed to offer. In addition to assessing and treating any medical problems your pet may encounter, we also provide the following preventive services.
Preventive Health Care Services
Vaccinations
Protecting your pet against contagious disease. Vaccinations are customized to the lifestyle of your pet and will be discussed with you during your visit.
General Physical Examinations
A thorough ‘nose to tail’ physical examination to ensure your pet is healthy. Even with technological advances, the examination is often the most valuable diagnostic tool and should be done at least annually. This also gives you the opportunity to discuss any general questions or concerns you may have regarding your pet’s health.
Wellness Testing
Since our pets are skilled at hiding illness, and also age at a much faster rate than we do, it is easy for the early warning signs of illness to go unnoticed. It is therefore important to consider periodic laboratory testing to assess your pet’s internal health. Early detection and treatment of an underlying disease or condition can result in your friend living a longer and healthier life.
Pre-anesthetic blood test
To increase safety, this blood test is performed prior to your pet receiving a general anesthetic. It tests organ function and checks blood cell counts to tell us if your pet is able to have surgery.
Puppy & Kitten Health Visits
Welcoming a puppy or kitten is an exciting event! Checkups ensure that your new friend gets off to a great start and allows us to cover a range of common issues from health to behavior. Such topics may include obedience and house training, nutrition, dental care, microchipping, deworming, and surgeries such as spay, neuter, and declaw.
Laser Surgery
We offer complete surgical services including spays and neuters, declawing, tumor and lump removal and soft-tissue surgery. Laser surgery is offered for most surgeries and is performed by Dr. Baraliya. The benefits of laser surgery include:
less pain and swelling which promotes quicker recovery
less bleeding which simplifies surgery and may reduce the level of anesthesia
less risk of infection
less trauma for your pet
All patients are carefully monitored before, during, and after surgery to ensure a safe and comfortable recovery.
Nutrition Consultations
Good nutrition is as important for pets as it is for people, especially since your pet’s nutritional needs change with age. With so many different types available, choosing the right pet food can be a challenge. We provide analysis and recommendations of your pet’s diet to enhance overall health.
X-Ray & Ultrasound
These tools allow us to literally ‘look inside’ your pet for answers that are not externally evident. They help in the diagnosis of foreign objects (swallowing something they shouldn’t have), bladder or kidney stones, and tumors. They can also identify abnormalities in the organs such as heart, liver, lungs, spleen and kidneys. All our ultrasounds are performed by a Certified Veterinary Radiologist.
Pet-Fit
During your pet’s checkups we perform a weight check and assign a visual score based on your pet’s ideal weight. We can then offer programs designed to provide guidance in helping our overweight ‘pouchy pooch’ and ‘fatty feline’ friends.
Dental Health Consultations
As also your pet’s dentist, we can recommend ways to keep your pet’s mouth in ‘purr-fect’ and ‘grr-eat’ condition. Our dental treatments range from preventive care, such as products that you can use at home, to more advanced dental care including in-hospital dental cleanings.
Seniors Program
Taking your pet to the veterinarian once a year is the same as a person seeing their doctor once every seven years. This is why semi-annual checkups and blood screening help identify potential problems early on and keep your pet’s golden years comfortable, happy, and healthy.
Parasite Control
Protecting your pet from unwanted intestinal parasites. This includes those that you can and can’t see, as well as those that can potentially be transmitted to other pets and family members.
Heartworm/Flea Prevention Medication
Heartworm disease is spread by mosquitoes. “Heartworms” are worms that live in the heart and arteries of the lungs and may grow to be 14 inch long adults. To safeguard your pet, an annual screening test is performed and then monthly preventive medication is dispensed. Some of the monthly treatments can also prevent your pet from suffering pesky flea bites – not to mention saving your home from a potential flea infestation.
Hospitalization
Our hospital kennels are located in the treatment area so we can keep a watchful eye on our patients whether they are ill or recovering from surgery. We spend the time holding, talking, and interacting with patients to help them get better sooner.
Boarding for Cats
Boarding services offer a ‘home away from home’ for cats. Since our boarding is veterinary supervised, we can also accommodate pets with chronic health problems or those requiring medications.
Emergency Services during Hospital Hours
We offer emergency services for your pet during our regular hours. If your pet requires overnight care, we can refer you to an overnight emergency animal hospital.
